Hello,

I am on H1 B visa. I recently got married and my wife is US citizen. Both of us got married in US and are in US currently. My wife use to work until sept and her annual income was about $30K. I do a job and make well over $70 K. I am trying to fill out the paper work and in the form I-864 i do have few questions.

i) Can my wife be the ONLY sponsor?

ii) If we need a joint sponsor, can her dad be joint sponsor? If so what forms and paper work do i need to get this?

Thanks in advance.

If your income is ongoing then it can be included on line 24 your wife' I-864. $70K ought to be plenty unless you have an unusually large household. No joint sponsor should be needed.

Your wife is the sponsor. Your income can be included on her form to meet the requirement.
