We only have one original police certificate from her home country and it's difficult to get another one because of the delay and money involved.

So would it be okay to just send in a good photocopy with an official tranlation?

And we will have the original police certificate at the interview. I am afraid it may get lost so if only a photo copy is needed just like for the passport bio page I would like to play it safe. I called the NVC and was told only a photocopy is needed for the Passport Bio Page AND Police Certificate.

If I am wrong about this, please somebody let me know, etc...

thanks!

I am sending the IV package tomorrow.

I was under the impression that a photocopy is ok. That's what we are going to send with our DS-230 form.

Oops, my answer could be wrong. I'm sorry for the confusion. We are in the same situation as you and were planning to send the copy, but now that I look I see that the original is required for the NVC. :-(

Where did you read that the copy is enough?

Her home country is France, or is it another one? Because French police records are free and take about a week to arrive in the mailbox after you request it online.
