Can I walk in early for biometrics?? -- New York Queens

I don't know how the New York office is, but I do have a feeling with a cut finger you cannot be fingerprinted. Wait until it heals completely. They will take fingerprints of ALL of your fingers. It is not worth to get in and then get sent away right by the computer when they are taking your fingerprints. I highly recommend you to wait until your finger cut completely heals! Plus, although the EAD process can be sped up by the biometrics, to gain the green card sooner is not going to happen. Biometrics does not speed that process up. So unless you die from starvation if you don't get your EAD and start working to get some coins to buy food I would wait for your finger to heal and just do your biometrics at the appointed date. Hopefully, by that time it is healed...if not, I would think to reschedule for a later time. But, decision is yours.

If you are scheduled for the Jamaica Location, then you can do an early walkin. I did mine two weeks before my appointment but it didn't speed up my EAD.

I did mine in long island city ,ny, queens, I got there a hour before and they took my fingerprint.

You can go to any biometrics location, not necessarily the one listed on your appointment letter. They just usually list the one closest to you for your convenience.

As I read, it does not speed up the process....so why hurry then. I would, again, say the same I did: go with your appointment schedule that way you avoid any hassle and take care of your finger! I hope it's not too bad...definitely don't lose it before fingerprinting!

Yes, I decided to go as the scheduled time. I will protect my fingers well!!!
