Hahahaha....do not let the CFO people scare you...

If all the documents are in order.....chances of denial are very low.

just have your visa, passport, and immigration packet ready for the immigration officers....you will be fine.

CFO people don't know any better.

Don't forget to fill out the I-94 (not sure if F2 get this form too) and hand it to the Immigration Officer with the 'do not open' brown/yellow envelope and your passport.

Safe trip and welcome to US soon!

Honolulu is very easy and the agents are nice. After you get your sticker from CFO forget EVERYTHING you learned there....

When you walk into the immigrations room there will be an agent by the door to direct you. The counter you want for POE is on the far left just after you enter the room.

You will be given a I-94 on the airplane to complete so make sure to bring a pen with you.

Just bring your DO NOT OPEN envelope and your passport, then smile......

and....Welcome to America!

You won't have to make any payments or taxes in US airports. In fact I've flown around the world to many countries and Philippines is the only country I have ever been to that charges so many fees and taxes. No other airport charges you a special fee before the gate to fly. No other airport has a huge line that charges their citizens whatever it is (4000p maybe?) to leave the country. No other airport makes you pay money to shuttle from one terminal to another terminal when transferring planes. It's all a bit odd really. :bonk: So once you leave phils you won't need money for any fees or taxes that I'm aware of.

However, be careful because at Manila airport you need lots of pesos to pay fees and taxes there when leaving the country and to pay taxi or shuttle to transfer you between terminals if necessary.:crying:

No such thing as airport fees in Honolulu or any other airport in the USA, that is a Philippines only. At the NAIA there is the exit fee of 1620 and the airport fee of 550.

Aloha and welcome to Hawaii! Marife flies here Thursday as well

I had a friend who recently arrive here that said they asked for her medical 'CD' and that some people were turned back because they didn't have it.

You should feel very comfortable in Waipahu, there are many Filipinos that live right in that area and Pacific Market (Philippine grocery store) plus Jolibee and Max's of Manila are there. I live near Waikiki but on the same island and only a few minutes away.
