Hi All,

My fiance and I will be starting the K1 process later this year. My partner is/will be the USC (currently going through the naturalisation process).

I've been reading this forum for six months now and at last we're getting ready to start the process. Just glad I found VJ !

Having read much of the RFE thread I'm starting to get my head round the perils and pitfalls of the initial application and issue of proving the existence of the relationship.

It seems like the most important bit to get right is the primary evidence. For me that's going to be a series of visits to the US with photos of us as secondary. The passport stamps and boarding passes are obviously a big deal as they're not that easy to fake (should one even think of trying...) so I understand their importance.

My real question is - is there any issue regarding boarding passes that have been issued on-line via a self checkin process i.e I've printed them at home. I always check-in online and save the boarding pass as a PDF as well as printing out hard copy to use at the airport. Given that many airlines have switched to this I would have thought that the adjudicators would accept them.

Any thoughts or experience welcomed.

I've sent a copies of the boarding passes given to me at the airport and we got an approval. Although he'll bring the originals during the interview

Good luck!

You still have the boarding pass it what ever form it is. The purchase of tickets to the boarding pass and passport stamps should all coincide together along with all your evidence. Use the guides and it should go OK, especially from the UK. You only need one trip to establish your K-1, if you have two better. Remember it is the total package that counts. Rely on fellow UK'ers who have gone through he process. Good Luck

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

I didn't even send any boarding passes, but I sent proof of my airfare itinerary receipts showing it was paid, hotel receipts, passport stamps, receipts from the country, ATM withdrawals from the country. You can also include proof of an ongoing relationship, if you'd like. Copies of phone records, letters, emails, chats, etc. The more evidence, the better.

Boarding passes (in whatever form) together with passport stamps are strong primary evidence, but receipts of purchases while together, are also very good. A variety, coupled with photos (secondary evidence)of you together, make a strong combination.
