Did anyone try getting in touch with VJ freinds who already completed their interviews?

i looked up a few options on tripadvisor. Most are #######. Only good one i found was Tunga Paradise. its slightly above my Rs5000 limit but it seems like the best option. Unless someone could suggest an alternative.

Many of VJ friends do post their review and brief on their interview experience but if anyone has some time please get back here to this post and help me with some queries by commenting on the following topics so that many upcoming interviewees can get a clearer picture of the Mumbai consulate interview process. I will try to outline the process in points so if there are more comments or suggestions by approved interview members please add.

1. Be in line by around 6:30am:

At this point just have your interview letter handy for officers to see that you have an interview on that day and whether you are an IV or non-IV candidate.

2. By 7-7:15am you will be placed in your respective IV/non-IV lines (dependant on officers)

This line is going to move forward for security check. Please VJ members, advise me here: do we have to have any papers handy? Or do we just have all docs in your bag and get ready for the security check. I am aware of not having any electronic items, any other advice?

3. Security cleared candidates move forward in 1 line to the VFS counter

Yes, here we keep our packet 4' mentioned required documents ready, especially medical report which is common for all candidates, then recent year (2011) tax return and w2, mostly PCC and if any more specific to respective cases.

First, we will give them the documents they ask, show them the online registration confirmation if asked, then they will ask few preliminary immigration questions, they will give back the original documents that were submitted to NVC and finally give the candidate a token number. Please let us know if there's anything else to be aware of, at this point.

4. With the token number we take a seat till we are called for fingerprinting at any counter

When token number is called we get our fingerprinting done. Is that it? Is there any questions asked? Is there any documents produced? Please advice

5. Again be seated and wait for token number to be called for the CO interview

I believe the officer starts with asking the candidate to take the oath that docs produced are true, right?

Does the officer ask for any paper documents? This is excluding photo album. This is to know if we need to make 2 copies of docs submitted at the VFS counter

I see many candidates say about signing docs, is it provided by the officer for e.g. the DS 230 part II or do we take the copy with us and sign on it?

What about I864 AOS form, do they ask for it again? What if the salary has changed or job change?

What about our passport for visa stamp, does the officer take it with him after the interview?

Yes if everything went well the officer will declare "visa approved".

So please help other VJ members. Thanks a lot in advance. Anyone can comment and suggest here.

Picking up in Mumbai will be nice, but the uncertainity of when the visa will be delivered will be costing extra bucks as one need their Hotels and other expenses within. In my case i am going to have it delivered to my hometown and then will pickit up from them. You can also track using their website and also can request to deliver to another town if needed. Take your best guess and decide based on that.cheers.

if one is not from MUmbai, picking up from home town is better option as you can do packing etc while wait for passport.

Well the issue is, Our interview is on Dec 4th. and we booked a flight out of India on Dec 18. So we're a little worried if we will get the passport & visa deleviered to Hyderabad in time.

From the timelines posted in this thread , the time between Interview and Visa received is not always same. For some its 4 days while others its 10 days. Why is this ? :help:

My wife had her interview today and she was the first one in line and was done out the first also. The process only took a couple of hours. She got her visa and I purchased the airfare for 20th of Nov. I am hoping she will get the passport by that time. I will post back when she receives the passport so others can get an idea of the time frame.

This is confusing now. I thought you dont have to pay anything for VFS to deliver the passport or is it just for picking it up from the location? to be delivered to your place do i have to pay extra money and how do i do that? please anyone has input on this ?

deliver at home is optional and premium service, to pick up at location is free.

you decide during interview at consulate if you need premium service to deliver at home and it costs Rs 300 cash
