I had my n400 interview at LA office this afternoon and I passed.. Yay!

We parked at the public parking opposite to the Federal office building - $2.5 per 20 minutes, $16 max.

My appointment was at 12 noon. We reached there a little after 11 and the queue was LONG. Apparently, the security scanner was slow and there were people waiting in queue for almost 2 hours. I finished my security screening at 12:20 and was called for interview at 1.

I was greeted by a very welcoming and friendly IO. I raised my right hand and said I do for whatever she said.

She verified my GC, DL and passport.

Civic questions: she noted down my answers as i spoke.

What is the name of the national anthem?

How old do citizens have to be to vote for President?

What is rule of law?

What ocean is on the west coast of United States

Why does the flag have 13 stripes

What major event happened on Sep 11, 2001

Reading: Something about Senators - i don't remember

Writing: Alaska is the largest state

Then, the review of the n400 application. My answers were mostly 'Yes, I do', 'No, I don't', 'No, I haven't' - That went on for 10 minutes or so until the whole application was reviewed. (She matched the entry/exit stamps on my passport with the travel dates specified in the application).

She asked if I wanted to get my name and signature changed - I said Yes. (I didn't know I could change my signature - I was getting tired of my creative nonsense anyway). Reviewed all the details and signed with the new signature and that's it - DONE!

Waiting for oath letter…

Congratulations :)

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
