Hi

Im really looking for some help here since me and my husband dont know what to do or how to find answers to our situation. I came to visit my husband last year in august and ended up staying since we dicided to get married and didnt wanna be apart; our plan was for me to stay. In december I had to go back to Sweden for a family emergency, and since then things have been kind of chaotic. To make things even worse I am diagnosed with borderline and I have had quite a lot of problems with that in the past and I have several scars on both arms. I never tried to commit suicide but I have had long hospital visits and also went to a treatment home to learn how to handle my anxiety. Today Im much better, and my Dr is about to put on my medical record that I am recovered. My two important questions are; can they pull any medical records, and do I have to tell them I have been diagnosed with Bordrline now that Im recovered? I have never done any drugs and I dont have a criminal record. Im legally married to my husband and Im on his insurance and on all the bills in the states. I do take one medication but thats only for anxiety- I have never been psychotic and I have never been a threat to anybody exept maybe myself at times but Im not anymore. I have a job waiting for me in the states and we own a beautiful waterfront home, and I have a Dr over there. Can i pass the medical or will I fail cause of my scars? We are both really scared cause we both want this so much. We are grateful for any help and answers we can get. Thanks so much.

You'll obviously have to disclose your medication and they will probably ask about your scars. It is necessary that you tell the truth. If you have a note fro your doctor indicating recovery, then I'd bring that along to. The medical is partly to show that you are not a danger to yourself or others, that's where the letter will help

Good luck

The BPD and scars won';t get you denied; at worst, they may send you for a psychological assessment to verify you are indeed recovered, ie a chat with a psychiatrist.
