Hey guys, I've just joined the site today and I have a few questions.. quite a few actually :D.

A Bit of background (if you're interested): We met on March 2011 on FB (I was studying abroad in Cyprus, she was in Turkey). Then she came to visit on April 22nd 2011 and ever since then we have been a couple. I love her more than anything and I've asked her to marry me and she said yes :).

Now as for my questions...: First of all, I want to know the process of this. All I know as of now is that there is an i29f form that I must fill out and send. There's also a NOA1 and NOA2. There's also an interview. What's in between all of this? What are the fees I need to pay? What does the interview have? What does my fiance have to do in Turkey? I see in the form it just asks information about her. Also in the form it asks for her Social Security Number. She doesn't even have one. She's not American. After everything gets accepted what does she do? She just comes over to the U.S? Surely she has to do somethings that involves the U.S Embassy in Turkey. Also, it asks for proof that we've seen each other . How do I provide this? Should I send them pictures of us or something? Lol. And when I send this form, what should I send with it? A copy of my passport? Or what exactly.

And last of all, is there ANYTHING I can do to make this go faster than the standard 5 or 6 months? Because I haven't seen her in 3 weeks and I already feel like I'm losing my mind :( I won't be able to see her again until this process is finished and I really want to make it as soon as possible..

Sorry for all the questions but please try and help me out. All help will be appreciated. Thanks again :) Nice to see a community of people helping other couples just like them.

Welcome! There are many steps to this, so I don't want to overwhelm you all at once. Please look in the GUIDES section, get the first forms you need, then read the form INSTRUCTIONS which will tell you everything you need to do.

You will send a petition, it will get approved in 5 or 6 months, and that petition will allow your fiance to apply for a visa at the consulate.

Then she will come to the US and you will marry within 90 days, and then you will file another set of paperwork to get her Permanent Residence in the US. With the petition, the visa, and the application for permanent residence, it costs upwards of $1500.

Read over the guides and come back with any further questions you have. Good luck.

Edit: Also, you put none or N/A for things that don't apply to you, like her SSN.

Welcome to the forum.

:guides: They can be accessed through Guides tab at the top of the forum page. In the Guides you will find the site's excellent step-by-step K-1 visa guide. Many of the answers to your questions can be found there.

Good luck on visa journey.

Thanks a lot :)

There's just 2 more things..

If she wants to come to the U.S just to visit, does she need a tourist visa or what? Or does the fact that we're doing this process enough?

And is there a way to make it go faster? There must be something..calling them.. I don't know anything..

One more question.. There could be a small chance she can come.. So I'm wondering will she need a tourist visa if she does decide to come? Or is the fact that we are in the process of this application enough?

She can come and visit you if she can get a tourist visa. Being in this process and knowing you will make it harder for her to get a tourist visa, but it is possible. She needs to show strong ties to home and the reasons she will return to get the tourist visa.

There is no way to make it go faster.

Review the stickie note at the top of forum, "Yes you can visit!" for information about your enquiry.
