I am in the US on L1_B, undergoing AOS through marriage to my long term US boyfriend.

My L1_B expires next week.

My EAD is hopefully coming through in November.

My company said that I can renew my I-9 reverification using my I-94 (expires April 2015) even though my visa has expired and I would have exceeded my maximum stay rule.

Is this correct? It feels wrong to me, but maybe there are some obscure rules that say that because my I-94 is valid and I have an I-797, it's ok.

I don't want to do anything that would cause problems.

I don't know if that is right, but if they let you do it, there is no risk to you. It won't change your AOS process in any way. So if they say you can, I would say "okay."

8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!
