Hello,

I'm now severely down in the dumps. I just found out that the IRS didn't receive my 2011 taxes (previous year). That's obviously my fault for not following through with my responsibilities while filing my taxes on my own. Considering that I don't have a W2 (as all my income was made in South Korea), that's not an option for a fall back. My question is this: are my taxes needed if I have a co-sponsor? Can I use my paystubs, and the taxes for 2010 and 2009 along with a co-sponsor or will the USCIS demand my 2011 taxes even with a co-sponsor?

I need to start over with my 2011 taxes (hiring an accountant), and it will take at least 2 months before the IRS receives everything and can send a Tax Transcript.

Thanks

Yes you need evidence of filing even with a co-sponsor.

If you filed and the IRS has not received it, can you not just send the package again? In any case, evidence of having filed should be enough.

I'm sure I could, but I'm just going to let a tax advisor handle it. It shouldn't take him long as all my tax papers were saved. I'm hoping a letter from him indicating that I filed will be suitable. It's rather unfortunate, but it's my fault for not double checking with the IRS earlier this year.
