A Bit Confused about the Interview letter

Yesterday I received my interview email notification, Thank God after the long wait

Now am a bit confused cos the letter designated for my Birth Certificate is 'U' which means that we informed the NVC the document is unavailable, which is not true, cos we submitted both the original

and a copy too.....

Has anyone had this issue before?? Please will need some answers thanks

PS- will call NVC later to know the reason why its unavailable

I would suggest calling NVC to ask an upper level supervisor to look into before it is sent to the embassy.

I have a question also. Who ever put my husbands name in the computer listed him as middle name, first name, last name. Instead of first name, middle name and last name. Should I also call and ask about this? Its' the interview letter that states it wrong, all other correspondence that has come to us has been in the correct order.

I know right? I certainly don't want anymore hold ups and if he uses that to get his medical, they also put his name backward on that, then he goes to interview and his passport and other paperwork are listed another way, they are going to try to make excuses. I didn't boo boo this one up! Going to call them. Will let you know what they say tonight or tomorrow.

No you can not send a copy to NVC. Everything has to be original or certified copy of the original. Like my marriage certificate no way I am trusting them with the original so my husband went to the registry in Ikoji and got a certified copy.

When I read the checklist, it says they want the beneficiary birth certificate not my bc. Why are some people sending in their (american) bc in the iv package?

No you dont need to send your birth certificate in...... the IV package is for the beneficiary

Am the beneficiary here, so my hubby called them up yesterday about the mistake, they said i should just bring the copy i have to the interview, that they should have the original, but i dont trust them, will get another one just incase they have misplaced it

This made me curious so I just looked at his interview letter from April 10, 2012. You need to call it should be listed as f.m.l.

Petitioner usually sends a copy of their birth certificate with the initial petition. When you have to send the info requested with the IV bill it's referring to the applicant petitioners aka foreign spouse. When people say they sent the original and a copy. NVC asks that you make a copy of everything you put in the packet so someone doesn't have to get off their butt, go to the copy machine, and make a dupliate on your behalf. The "certified copy" refers to you not sending your original, but a notarized copy of the original or an agency generated copy.

How much did they charge you I am so afraid to send my original to them. I want to get as much paperwork from him as possible while I am there so getting a certified copy while I am there would be great.
