Hi fellow VJ members:

My fiancee passed her interview last friday in guangzhou china, and she lives in guangzhou just one block from the consulate. She still has not receive her visa today, it's been a week. The paper she was given memtioned that the visa will be issue 2-3 days after she passed her interview. I am starting to get worried and remember that even though interview is passed, there is chance that it will go to administrative review. My fiancee is pregnant for 6 months and any delay will be bad for us.. any suggestions? anyone here pass the interview in guangzhou in the same time frame?

Any advise?

thanks..

We did the GUZ gauntlet in June. It took about ten days for my wife and step-son (in Liaoning province) to receive their PRC passports with attached visas via EMS. It may be stuck in the notoriously slow mail room at the GUZ. It might be a good idea to shoot them an email and inquire about the disposition....

Here is the email link: http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/immigrant-visa-unit-question.html

It usually takes them a day or two to respond.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

While we wait for other members that have gone through the Guangzhou consulate to chime in. Have you tried contacting DOS? If she has been put on AP, and it's been a week, there's a big chance DOS has that updated information.

On average, a visa can take 1 or two weeks to be issued at any consulate; but some can also be faster than others.

DOS number is: 202.663.1225
