Would an RFE for AOS from K-1 also slow down EAD and AP application?

Hi Vj,

So we are expecting to get a RFE for our AOS application from K-1. We use my wife's mother as a cosponsor and forgot to include some of her tax paper with the application.

My question is, if we do get a RFE for that, will this also put my EAD and AP application on hold?

yes, most likely, you will receive a letter stating that processing of the AOS and anything filed with it is on hold until you provide the evidence.

Not sure, exactly but see my signature line and timeline for our dates. (whether we were delayed we don't know) but we had an RFE for our K1 AOS, but just received notice that oue EAD card was in production. We didn't apply for AP. The AOS still shows that it received our reply to the RFE (also concerning W2s and tax records) and we should get an answer later.

My similar question is actualy the reverse: Since we look to have our EAD approved and on the way, does that mean our answers to the RFE were accepted and likely approved? (since they are now sending the EAD), or are the two completely seperate and even if they send the EAD and later disapprove the I485 the EAD would just also be cancelled?

Most likely it will stop the process. If they don't have adequate info about your sponsor they don't know if you are eligible to adjust at all.

As for Miew-Miew, in your case it probably means it has been accepted but nothing is guaranteed with USCIS. If your I-485 was denied for some reason your EAD would be immediately voided.
