Hello Again VJ members,

Hope everybody is ok. I am back after a long period of absence in VJ. I have a few concern that need to be addressed. My sister application for I-129F (Fiancee) was just approved and they got a manila case number already. My questions is: Sister still on the process to correct the year of birth on her passport and DFA says it takes a month to process or more than that. If in case the interview date arrive and she dont have the passport in her hand yet, can she re-schedule the interview?

Any comments and suggestions is very much appreciated. Thank you VJ members, for all the support.

M

She can't even schedule her interview without her passport, so no worries about re-scheduling.

as long that she watch the expiration of her NOA2 she'll be okay...NOA2 expire (i believed 4months since it got approved)..if ever, her passport is not ready yet and NOA2 almost expire..just simple call the embassy to extent it

goodluck guys

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!

Thank you so much for all the replies. As soon as manila case number arrived in manila I believe that manila embassy will send you a pocket containing an interview date schedule? Is that correct? Or you have the right to schedule whenever you are available as long as you are in the NOA2 range?

Thanks again.

The embassy rarely sends out anything until after the interview is sheduled. Scheduling of the interview is done by the K-1 beneficary either online or by calling and that can not be done until after the visa fee is paid at BPI (for which the passport needs to be presented). The approved petition (NOA2) is good for 4 months from approved date, but can be renewed for an additional 4 months up to a year.

you cannot do anything until you have your passport with you. First you need your passport number before you can pay your visa, then you'lle gonna need your passport in doing your medical exam at st lukes and of course,in getting interview date wether its online or by call.So make sure have your passport done before your approved visa petition expires unless you have to call the embassy to extend it.Because in everything you'lle gonna do now is your passport number and info. Goodluck and hope everything is all well.
