Hi All,

How many working days normally it takes for us to receive e-Notification? I'm applying AoS based on Asylum. I send the package on Aug 27, received Aug 29th (USPS confirmation), but until this weekend, I haven't received any text, nor email notification from USCIS. Or maybe because I send my package to Phoenix Lockbox via regular mail instead of Priority/ Express mail?

Checked with my post office here, they also said, the package have been received.

Please advise.

Lately, it seems to be taking around 10-15 days for the electronic notification. But it could take up to 30. Hang in there, you'll hear something soon.

EDIT: Just saw you said you sent it to Phoenix. Why? What are you applying for?

I find it a bit strange, but maybe it depends on which lockbox facility we send our stuff to. I sent mine to Chicago one on September 4th and I've got the eNotification on the 7th that they've got all of them, and I used certified USPS, no express or priority mail or anything.

I hope you'll get it soon, maybe this varies due to which lockbox facility we send our stuff to?! Good luck!

It was Labor Day last week also, and USCIS is notoriously sluggish around public holidays.

Hi All,

e-Notification received early today< transfer to Nebraska SC.

Aug 27, 2012 AOS mailed via USPS

Aug 29, 2012 received USPS confirmation

Sep 11, 2012 e-Notification email n text from USCIS :D :D :D

So I am just curious what determines where they send our packages? Like Kenny's got sent to Nebraska SC. Mine was sent to the National Benefits Center. What determines this? I'm in CA, so I would've assumed they would send it to Sacramento USCIS or something as I live the closest to Sacramento. Just wondering, any idea peeps? :) Thank you!

It depends on what type of paperwork you are sending. The OP is doing Asylum case, it's different than most of people here which is Adjust of status base on marriage with US citizen.

But why would they send an application to missouri service center if the applicant resides very close to Sacramento, CA, for example? I just find this odd....

Because the USCIS office in Sacramento is only a field office, they don't do much work there. They only handle interviews or some emergency requests.

There are five big service centers they handles ALL immigration applications which are California, Vermont, Texas, Nebraska and NBC.

They sort out the applications first, If it needs to be interviewed, they will send the case to your local field office like Sacramento, SF, San Jose etc..
