And this is posted in the Philippine forum.. why?

It's in the Nigerian forum as well because it says "worldwide". It was just some helpful information a member posted. The gesture was very thoughtful. Thank you OP!

I paid a bit more for a Qatar ticket. They provide a room/food for extended layovers and Yemi absolutely loved their service.

Olomi, where was his layover? I still think I am going to try to fly him home with me (on the same flight). Considering a flexible ticket myself.

Really? How many lay overs and where? Do they cater to pets? I am planning to bring my dog to the US...

I clicked the Nigeria portal and read it. Either way a majority of the airlines are global and it's good info to know. Some of us have had hellish experiences and knowing where an airline is on the list can help determine what may be best.

Layover was in Doha, Qatar. Last time I flew I was on Delta with a layover in Atlanta. Depending on where you are in AL you might want to consider the direct flight from Lagos to ATL and just drive to get him. I tried to book Arik first with a direct flight, but they were sold out. Yemi kept saying he didn't mind a layover until he found out the direct was sold out...lol. Now he sings Qatar's praises like he's a spokesperson.

Not sure where you would be flying to, but here's Qatar's website you can read around or call.

Qatar

Dana, I forgot to add I booked the Qatar flight on Skyscanner and amazingly I got my flight on HOTWIRE. Several posts I've read have said to call Delta directly when booking a 1 way from Lagos, because they allegedly increase the price to deter scammers. I originally found a flight at a wholesale rate to Lagos and I was told they did not accept credit card payments to Nigeria or Ghana.

still kind of new on this site but still good for everyone to know.

32 hours from LOS to IAH, holy mother of all layovers. Damn good price though.

I couldn't figure out the eatery in your picture. Looks like Inostraight @ Mokola but not sure.

My husband and I are eating amala (brown food), goat meat and fish.. very delicious

I'm curious who put together the list and what their criteria was? I honestly can't believe Etihad could make a "best of" anything list...unless they get extra points for late arrivals.
