I received an RFE on 8/16/12 for the Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

I sent back what they needed and they received it on 8/31/12. When I check my status on the USCIS website it says:

On August 31, 2012, we received your response to our request for evidence. This case is being processed at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use the processing time information on our website to estimate when this case will be done. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Once a timely response to the request for evidence is received by USCIS, we review the evidence or information you submitted. If you submitted the requested evidence, we continue with the adjudication of your application or petition in light of the new evidence.

Can anyone tell me how long it will take to hear a response from them and when my husband will get his work permit and travel care?

Also, how long will it take to get his green card?

Thanks!

Did you file the forms for the EAD and AP along with the I-485? Those are processed separately. Usually once your filing is accepted by the USCIS, anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.

From your timeline:

Based on timeline data, your EAD may be adjudicated between September 23, 2012 and September 26, 2012*.

If this date range has passed or your application is past due per USCIS processing times then you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition. If you have been approved please update your timeline.

Yes I applied for AP and the EAD along with the I-485. I am still waiting on them to send my husbands work card. He really needs it. He is getting job offers and is rejecting all of them because he is not allowed to work (no ss card means no work) :(

From the date you filed or whenever USCIS received your application, It will take about 60-70 days to get the EAD/AP.

Please see my timeline and Signature line...

I got an RFE 6 days before you did.. and they received my response to the RFE 2 weeks before yours BUT was just notcied 3 days ago that my EAD was in production.. SO you might get a surprise (EAD) within the week or two..?

almost exact situation as yours but my response was sent out a little earlier. Either way, looks like you are 2 weeks behind me so good luck!

We are still waiting on the GC, the update still says the same thing as yours except AUG 16 instead of the 31st. I am (expecting) the GC to come a month after receiving the EAD which could be any day.. remind me, or keep an eye out of my timeline.
