It means you can't work until you have received the EAD card, You can apply for the EAD when you do your Adjustment of Staus. "Valid for Work only with DHS Authorization" can be removed when you receive your Green Card. Good Luck :)

Applies to K1, not sure the same for CR1, someone else please chime in

OP is on a CR1 according to profile. Is that the correct visa you entered on?

If you got a stamp (i-551) in your passport, that's your proof of being authorized to work. Otherwise go back to SSA and show the the stamp and have them change/update the ss card for you, or show the greencard. It's not required but you can if you want to.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

Yep, your EAD is the authorization from DHS(department of homeland security). Happy job hunting :) Your profile says you're a cR1/IR1 - might be a good idea to change it to adjustment of status since it helps people to guide you better.

Did you try changing it by clicking on your name on the top right corner, then clicking settings. Under 'your options', click profile and then change profile info - it's almost at the bottom of the page. I just tried and it worked here.

Yep, good luck searching for a job. :)
