I just submitted N-400 application and have a date to for biometric on 9/21. I took my biometric for I-751 (removing conditions of green card) about 12 months ago. Can I skip the N-400 biometric since I just took it so I can speed up the N-400 process? I figure I can shave at least 1 month if they can use my previous biometric data (waiting for biometric date + biometric processing time)

If they wanted to waive it, they would not send you another biometric.

You skip it and your application will be denied right away. Many here including me, needed to have another biometric within a year time (mine was within 11 months). You HAVE to go to your scheduled biometric, dont risk losing your money/time.

Good luck

Generally the validity of fingerprints of an applicant is only 15 months. As yours is only 12 months, I think that would be fine for this N-400.But in your case, you have been scheduled for a fresh biometrics. No harm in taking it again, instead of messing it up by skipping it totally.

USCIS probably do not check whether an applicant has biometric data in file that is still valid. they would just schedule a date for every applicant that pay for biometric.

i was wondering if there is a formal process to request for a waive.

i don't have any issues with re-taking it again...i don't expect my biometric to be different than last time but like i said before, i'm just trying to shave the processing time of this whole thing.

i won't just not show up for my scheduled biometrics time before i get waiver, that would not be smart :)
