adopt a child after NOA1

We filed our K-1 application in march and currently still wait for NOA2. Meanwhile, my fiancee is thinking of adopting a child in her family before the interview (assuming our K-1 application will be approved). The child is about 10 years old, not listed on K-1 application (of course), but will be added to documents at interview, if there is no obvious risk or negative impact to her interview. There is no need for her to adopt the child as the child lives with his parents, nor the child will come to US with her. My fiancee's intention is to provide the child a better education, when such a need arises in the future.

Can someone comment on this situation? Will it risk her K-1 visa application if she does adopt the child?

Why adopt if she can sponsor the child as a God parent, since the financce is only looking to provide financial funds toward an education in the far future.

The motive looks to be different than what you have described.

You just don't have 10 year old children apprear as an add in for the interview and get them a visa. To adopt a related child there are many rules about the inability to the bio parents to care for the child and that they must surrender custody of the child. If the child will still live the the bio parents then immigration will NOT recognise the adoption
