I was wondering if my fiancé blurry BC with be an issue at the USEM-Manila for his interview? For some reason Philippines NSO-BC comes out very blurry :dead::reading:

When he went back to the NSO office the clerk told him the embassy need to make that request so that they will issue him a clear copy in case they have problem reading his BC. I mean why wait to avoid the hassle :ranting:

any ideas?? thanks

That is just not true....He can order an NSO birth certificate anytime he wants.

If you have the correct information....you can request his NSO birth certificate right there from your computer.

Some parts of his BC are kind of readable such like his name and bday. But the name of his dad is blurry. Will this be is an issue?

thanks

Yes, I think it's the best thing to do. I have mine that is blurry too, and I'll just bring my local BC with NSO authentication at the time of my interview. Lord willing, soon...:)

Request a new BC and don't mention the old BC or it being blurry. Oh, get 4-6 copies and bring the extras to the States as you will need copies of the BC from time to time once here.

My wife's BC copy is very blurry and it was noted: "best possible image" and they included a typed sheet with all the info and authenticated. It has worked all the way from the initial interview to her citizenship & passport application.

I had the same problem though not with the Embassy about some not very clear parts of the BC.

What she can do is go to the NSO and ask some kind of affirmation/clarification statement from them. Something like affirming that the name is "X" according to NSO records. I didn't pay for anything, but that was years ago. I don't know now. better to have that just in case. I had mine while applying for a passport.

The guy who was evaluating my papers in the DFA said he's not sure if the G was C or a G and I told him it's a G but he let me still go get some affirmation statement from the NSO.
