Life is sometimes presented with deep conflicting situations, in an emergency setting often time a doctor might have to choose between patients to save ... not that both are not worthy but this situation is such that attention must direct resources to one over the other.

When life rescue squads work, they often must take on over the other.

IN war, do you bomb this target or that and reluctantly innocent people will be killed.

Abortion today is nothing like that.

99% of the time someone doing something will will have a vary possible outcome.... create another life and then they just want to back up.

It's like the smoker getting lung cancer and acting shocked.

Rape... saving the life of the mother.... are completely different cases.

I respect people who are prolife all the way down the line, they take this position out of principles.

I consider myself pro=life but I am not an absolutist on the idea because rare, unavoidable events happen almost always not of our making .......which allow me to say

A lot of people are not absolutists on abortion. However you seem to criticise the idea of being pro-choice as being 'extremist'. How does that work?

And it might well be pointed out that if you are not an absolutist, that you might just accept that sometimes so-called "partial birth abortion" might be a necessary choice.

According to the extremists that write the GOP platform, it is black and white. They concede that individual politicians adopt a stance that allows for a few shades of grey but maintain that these politicians do so not out of conviction but for pure political viability and expediency. In other words, these Republicans say only what they know voters want to hear but really see it as a black and white issue with no shades of grey allowed.

How so? Where are Democrats running around trying to force late term abortions on anyone? My wife was pregnant and carried our daughter to term. I do not recall any Democrat ever trying to force her to have an abortion. Do you know of people that have been pushed to have abortions by Democrats? Has the Democratic party somehow added to their platform that the party will force people to have abortions? I've read the relevant portions of the platform today - posted them here even - and I can't find any such thing in there. So, what are you talking about?
