Hello!

After months of perusing this site anonymously I have decided to join and share my journey whilst gaining and giving a little support.

Yesterday I received an e-mail from NVC describing the next steps, we are about to be filling our AOS I-864 but I just have a query regarding this form. When I join my husband in America we plan to be residing at his mums house whilst we look for our own place, now I understand from reading the information about sponsors, that im going to need to include all his family members who live in that household to work out the correct income requirement for sponsorship. Is that correct? Even though they aren't dependant on my husband do I still need to include them in the form?

I think i know the answer is yes but I just wanna clarify.....thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this or give advice.......

No, he doesn't need to include the family members that live in the same house unless they are dependant on him/ he lists them on his tax return for a deduction. Just living in the same house is not the same as being a household member for the I-864.

Thank you so much for getting back to me!.......This is such a relief, as it totally made no sense if he had to. Thanks again!.......X

Penguin is correct as long as your husband's income is sufficient to qualify as sponsor on his own.
