NOA2 Time Frame by Case

Does anyone think that the time frame from NOA1 to NOA2 being approved has anything to do with the complication of a case. An example would be the following: Case #1, Couple never married before, no kids, no criminal record, only two year age gap, beneficiary never been outside their country of birth, and relationship ongoing for more than 2-3 years. A very simple case with no extra paperwork or possible complications due to extra information needed. Then, Case #2, couple been married already (divorced), two kids, beneficiary has been to the USA on tourist visa before, and name change. In case #2, more paperwork is required than case #1. Does anyone think the approval time has anything to do with the case, complicated or not, or simply just who handles the case and USCIS work load. Just trying to get an idea when our case will be approved, we have a simple case with no divorces, no children, nor anything else that would add extra paper work.

Yes, I saw that. I been reading different timelines and they have been mostly 5 months and longer. I ask because certain cases are simple and some are more complicated. For those whose have been approved, were they a simple case or complicated. I'm trying to get an idea, I don't see how the timeline can be accurate enough.

Because it is an average of other timelines. Date of filing, adjudication. And yes, someone who gets a RFE, or goes through administrative processing will be longer. Either way, the average takes in all of these factors. Of course, it is only based on VJ members.

You can go to this website and put in your service center and look for your application type and see USCIS current processing times.

It mat be. But I interpreted the post as comparing their "simple" case to one that would have kids, divorce, etc..

I don't know if it matters that much... We are ideal candidates I think and have been waiting over six months with no word. We are 1 year apart in age, never married, no criminal history, no children, tons of evidence of relationship, he's from the UK... Yet I see lots of approvals before us and some cases that sound much complex to me taking less time. I think it's just a matter of luck at this point.

I was comparing two cases, a simple/ideal case like ours with no extra paperwork, no divorce, no kids, no criminal record, etc: and a complicated case with divorce involved, kids, large age gap,etc: If the time frame for NOA2 would be shorter for the ideal case than a complicated case.

Yeah, you would think cases that are simple and straight forward like ours would take less time than more involved ones. Even with VJ statistics on time frames, it's pretty much comes to being very patient and luck. You should be getting your NOA2 soon.

I honestly don't think it makes much of a difference. We (applying for K1) are pretty much the first case you described, except for that I have been out of Germany on vacation. No complications whatsoever. Still we're stuck at Vermont Service Center, 5 months and going. Though I think what might make approvals slow down is administrative processing. Other than that, I don't think it makes much of a difference. As you said, it is mostly a matter of luck.
