When filing the DS-230, I have read in other forums that I must include a pre-paid envelope for NVC correspondence. Is this true? Also, since I am not sending any original documents (since it is illegal to do so in Ukraine) do I need to be sending two (2) copies of my civil docs (marriage cert, passport page, etc)?

P.S.

What about the two pictures I am sending? Do I have to glue one of them to the DS-230? If so, what do I do with the other one?

If anyone should respond to this forum, I would like to know where you found the information. I can't find any info on the NVC website.

Thank you all so much! This has been quite stressful, as I'm sure you all know.

Hi there,

You don't have to glue the pictures.

You don't need to attach a pre-paid postal envelope, since the NVC will send it to the US consulate in your home country.

Are you sure you don't have to attach the original documents to your application? Unless you are sending certified copies you will have to attach the original documents.

Hope this helps

You do need to send the original civil documents or certified copies issued by the applicable government agency.

I have certified copies, but not original documents. thank you for your help!

That sounds normal. Original civil documents are usually retained by the applicable government agency who will then issue certified copies.
