Those with experience dealing with the embassy can help me with this. My fiancee got the packet 3+4 on the same day and was given a date to come back for the interview.

At what point is the DS-230 form supposed to be submitted, I am a bit confused cos I think it supposed to be turned in after packet 3 to recieve the interview date, but obviously Accra does things a bit differently.

Can someone advise what we are supposed to do. Fill it in and take it to the embassy on a random wednesday morning? Will she be allowed in side for this reason? etc..

Thanks

You submit that at the interview (someone correct me if things have changed).

Like you, I also thought those forms are to be filled out by the beneficiary and submitted at time of interview?

You have to submit all the DS forms, including DS-230, on the day of your interview and not before.

I'm still confused about this and I need some clarification.

The K-1 visa is a non immigrant visa right? If so why do we need to fill out the DS-230 which is for immigrant applicants?

It's not part of the forms for K1 on the Lagos Embassy but have been told by a VJer that I need to fil lit out. We haven't received any package yet so I cannot verify what the Embassy will actually send.

The k-1 is a non-immigrant visa but with immigrant intent. It is processed the same way as other immigrant visas.

Yea from my understanding, the ds-230 is for Dept. of homeland Security in the US and not the consulate for visa processing

I'm still confused. Web searches added to my confusion but validated that others had similar concern.

I swear ghana plays by their own rules... but yes DS-230 part 1 is brought at the interview.

You submit that at the interview (someone correct me if things have changed).

This is still correct

So for the DS-230 form, are you suppose to fill only part 1 is the biometric information part and then fill part 2, the sworn statement part, in front of the consular officer or you can answer questions 36 to 44 of the pdf form before printing the form out since you will end up filling that part anyway when you get there.
