Hi! I am planning on going for a walk-in biometrics and wanted some advice. What would be the best time for me to try a walkin? Should I go early in the morning or later in the day? What do I say to them at the support center. Should I speak to somebody in particular? Also, does anybody have any experience with a support center in Queens, NY? I am scheduled for one at the Jamaica office at queens. Your input would be appreciated. Thank you.

Follow the time what its mention on biometric paper. If you have appointment 3 pm then you can go before the time with no issue and advantage is you will early free.

If you not follow the time they will close your case so be careful and follow

It really depends on the local office, and may even depend on the mood of the guard.

I did EB in ATL last Thursday - everybody was nice, it was a slow day for that office and I was in and out in 15 minutes.

If it's not far for you to travel, it may be worth a try. Don't carry a purse/bag or cell phone - just your papers. Have your appt letter and GC.

I just walked in to the Waukegan IL office yesterday at 1pm. My appointment was for Aug 17. I tried to explain to the officer that I wanted to do early biometrics but before I could say anything he cut me off and said "give me your green card". He took it and started putting the form together on the clipboard. I wanted to clarify that I didn't have an appointment that day, he just smiled at me and said he didn't see or hear anything!

The office had only 1 other person waiting. I was next in line and the whole thing took less than 10 minutes. So I would definitely give it a try. The worst that can happen is that they will tell you to come back at the appointed time.

Good Luck!

I did an early walkin for biometrics at the Jamaica location. I went on a Wednesday morning. I was the 4th person in line as they were opening and the security guys were pleasant and allowed me to do the bio. I was the second person out the building. I told them I won't be in town that week.

Thank you. I actually took advantage of the heavy rain and showed up at the Center at 12:00pm. I was THE ONLY person there. The guard was courteous and said it was ok. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Good luck to all in-waiting.

I don't think there is a 'right' time to attempt a walk-in, it really depends on the location and how busy it is. I walked in (today) on a Wednesday afternoon and was postively received. I got out in just about 10 minutes! This is in Alexandria, VA.
