Oh yeah...it's time to put the USCIS and VJ websites on your "favorites" bar and obessively start checking them multiple times a day. And find a hobby. ;)

When it's time to schedule the interview, that will be set up between the embassy and him (in Canada) after more paperwork. He'll have plenty of advance notice.

Okay good. I've already added it, and have been sitting on this this morning for 45 minutes already!

Send in I-129F: July 5, 2012

Receive NOA1: July 11, 2012

I'm just double checking, I received the Form I-797C, NOA receipt. (I'm the American, btw). Is there anything else I have to do, or do we just wait until we get the interview information?

Also, how does the interview information get to us? Does the government send the info to me (USA) or him (Canada)? Is it in a letter? or an Email? etc. He's going to try to visit me this weekend for about a month, and I'm just concerned he'll get the interview letter while he's visiting and have to drive back in such a hurry because the interview would be tomorrow (or something). Do they give you a weeks notice?

Thanks!

No need to worry, just receiving your NOA1 you have at least 5 months of wait time to endure. We just received our NOA2 last week and probably have at least a month or 2 before we even have an interview date. We visited each often during the months of waiting.

thank you so much for this info! now i know where our application was sent... got our NOA! already and waiting for the NOA 2 then i checked on the receipt number it says WAC so it was sent to California Service Center! :)

Welcome to the forum.

:guides:

BTW, you sent your petition to the Dallas Texas lockbox location, the Texas Service Center does not adjudicate K-1 visa petition. The receipt number prefix on your I-797c will tell you which service center your petition was sent to. If it is WAC = California Service Center, EAC = Vermont Service Center. Change your timeline/profile info in order to get relevant statistics.

Good luck on your visa journey.

Thanks,

The wait from NOA1 to NOA2 is arguably the hardest part of the wait. Well, I know it was for us. The wait will test your patience and nerves. The closer you are to your timeframe, the anxiety will build. Then, when it doesn't come on the day you expect it, you begin to unravel and become impatient. It is here where arguments between couples can easily develop over little things. Try and remember back why you fell in love. Keep the conversations positive between one another. Skype has saved many a relationship. For those of you who can, play games online.

Then one day, you get it. NOA2. For us it went like this....

Mari had been really disappointed with no news yet. We were outside of normal processing times. I was becoming disappointed also, but was trying to stay positive for her. I got home from work and immediately checked USCIS.. Same thing over and over and over again. Still in initial review. The time came for Mari and I to meet online via Skype. Her first question, as was the case lately, was, "Any news yet?". No I told her. She became weepy and was tired of the wait. There was no consoling her. After awhile, she decided to go to bed. We said goodbye and arranged a time to meet for the next day. I surfed VJ for awhile and was about to shutdown computer and decided to check email one last time before going to bed. ANd it had arrived while we were talking. The email notification that we had signed up for. My heart jumped out of my chest. I went to USCIS and logged in and checked again. It had changed!!!!! We had been approved.!! I grabbed my phone and called Mari. She answered and I said guess what. She had no clue because of the conversation we had just had on Skype. I screamed we were approved and she just started crying. I did my happy dance. With renewed energy, we got back on Skype and she checked for herself. It was an amazing feeling. All the wait had immediately slid off of our backs.

After NOA2, the process goes by much quicker. Best wishes to all of you that are waiting on your NOA2.

I found myself laughing at the comment about checking status updates with uscis and here obsessively. We did the same thing. Also, does obsessively checking the websites classify as a "hobby"? I think it was more like "therapy" for us. :o

Good luck all.....!!!
