Question;

My wife is planing to file I-130 for both parents (dad & mom). Since a separate I-130 needed per person, on Section D. Other Information, Q2 Have you ever before filed a petition for this or any other alien? If yes, give name, place and date of filing and result.

what should she answer since she is filing for both parents?

VSC K1 & N400 Timeline:

1/05/2009 Sent I-129F, G-325A + other documents as required. $455 fee
1/09/2009 NOA1 Petitioner received
4/30/2009 NOA2 Petitioner received (approved in 105 days from NOA1 3.5months)

what should she answer since she is filing for both parents?

The answer should be NO since she hasn't filed for her parents before. That question pertains to petition/s filed that may have been approved or not in the past.

You don't need to wait for your AOS fee to appear as "paid." Go ahead and mail it. I sent mind as soon as I pay the fee. Don't forget to print a copy of your cover sheet.

Really? I'm getting conflicting reports some say wait until its "PAID" status. I should say pay soon, i'll just wait to be on the safe side. Do i need to wait for the DS3032 to be approved?

You don't need to wait for your ds3032 to be accepted. By the time NVC gets your aos packet, your status will change to "paid." Besides money were debited already from your acct. by tonight or tomorrow that status will change to paid based on my experience.

The AOS Package will need to be sent to the address on the "Barcode Cover Page". Can you get the Document Cover Page without the AOS status shown PAID? If you dont have the barcode cover page, you are risking a delay in your case if the package does not reach the correct department. Did you mail the AOS package without paying the AOS fee?

Angkorthom,

The DS-3032 form does not need to be approved before sending the AOS (Affidavit of Suppport). However, the DS-230 (IV) package won't be sent to the agent (petitionner) without DS-3032 being accepted by the NVC.

Yes, you can actually print out the bar code cover sheet even if the payment status is still IN PROCESS.

After sending out the DS3032 via email will they send a letter out to me or respond via email?

NVC will EMAIL back the beneficiary/applicant that the choice of agent has been accepted.

Its been about 6 days already and i haven't received any emails from them yet regarding the DS-3230, should i send the physical signed form as well just as backup?

It can take up to 20 business days for NVC to accept DS-3032. Mine took about 2 weeks (10 business days). You don't need to send the signed form. You will just have to patiently wait.

Be patient and you will receive email confirmation regarding your Choice of Agent. It can take up to 20 days for the DS-3032 to be accepted. As long as you already submitted the AOS package, you are fine.

been following this forum. My wife plan to file I-130 sometime in mid-June and want to get thing ready. I saw a few had cover letter along with I-130. Does anyone willing to share sample cover letter? I can't find in "Example Forms."

Separate I-130 in one envelope

Mom:

  • G-1145
  • mom birth certificate (copy)
  • petitioner birth certificate (copy)
  • petitioner married license (copy)
  • petitioner US Citizen Certificate (copy front & back)

I guess mom don't need married license only dad, right?

Dad:

Your wife is planning on petitioning her parents? I'm doing the same thing, i don't remember doing a G-1145, but i guess that's good getting electronic notification. I don't think you need a cover letter for the I-130. My memory is not that good once i complete something i totally forget. I just sent in my:

-I-864 AOS

-I864A

-3 years tax returns

-6 months pay stub

-Letter of Employment

-Cover sheet

-Paid the $88 fee

-Emailed NVC DS-3032

each parents have a different set. Happy New Year bro.....
