EAD Necessary?

Hi,

I had an attorney look at my package b4 i sent it...I had I-131, I-485, medical and affidativ of support

and they said I MUST include a EAD form....

I'm on a tight budget...is it Necessary to include EAD?

You only need to file for EAD if you plan to work before you have your AOS interview... if you can hold out for your Greencard then it will save you some money....

EAD is optional, only required if you want to legally work before you receive the GC.

As others said you do not need to apply for the EAD as long as you understand that you will not be able to work until you receive your actual green card ...

Just remember that even though some people are being approved rather quickly for green cards that there are also many people stuck in FBI name checks and what not for many months or even years ...

If you were unfortunate to be caught in FBI name check you can file for EAD after you have filed for AOS you just have to include a copy of your NOA1 for AOS with your application for EAD....

So if you dont file with AOS you can file for EAD at a later date if needed...
