I would like to know how long I can stay in my home country after getting the K1 visa approved. For instance, if I got the visa in July would it be valid until December? Unfortunately due to financial concerns on both ends, I won't be able to move to the US for some time, but I would like to apply for the visa now. Thanks much in advance for all your help :).

The visa typically has a 6 month expiration.

Have you and the US citizen fiance started the process yet?

01-12-2012 NVC Left

01-24-2012 Consulate Received

02-08-2012 Packet 3 Received

03-26-2012 Packet 3 Sent

03-27-2012 Packet 4 Received

05-07-2012 Interview Date, approved

05-16-2012 Received K-1Visa

05-29-2012 Arrived in U.S.

AOS/EAD/AP (Adjusting from K1 Visa):
