My wife's interview is on the 10th of July. All of the original documents were presented to the NVC. We are going off of the Embassy's website, which states to simply pay the courier fees if all docs were submitted to the NVC.

All that my wife will be taking to the interview would be:

- Interview letter.

- Medical.

- 2011 W-2.

- Updated letter from employer confirming my employment.

- Letter of extension from the IRS.

- Last 4 pay stubs.

- Proof of relationship.

I haven't filed my 2011 taxes yet, hence she is going to be taking the other tax and income docs.

Are we missing out on anything? Do we really need to try and have photocopies of everything which has already been submitted. Not that I mind doing it, but it would probably be a lot of work to try and get all of the items ready in just a day. Plus the wife is kind of a little stubborn about it (aren't all women?). She doesn't want to take anything other than what is really needed.

Any tips/advice is much appreciated.

The primary reason for bringing a copy of what's been submitted is as insurance in case a document got lost or misplaced and the CO requests it. Or if the CO asks to see an original version of a document? Why risk the RFE and accompanying delay and stress?

Isn't the point to get the visa on the first attempt?

Best of luck!

We submitted ALL originals to NVC. We submitted copies of everything to VFS of what was sent to NVC, we Also took Copies of all that plus any other documents that we thought might need to the Interview. We didn't get asked for any of the docs we took to the interview. We just wanted to make sure we can give them anything they would ask for in case they have lost any of the forms we sent. I decided to do this because I read horror stories about the CO not having the 230 or needing the affidavit of support when it had been sent to NVC....is better to be prepared. Good Luck!
