Hey guys ,

Im currently in the processing of trying to change my wife's passport but there is no guarantee the foreign country will accept to change it. I have already submitted everything using the CORRECT surname to the NVC,

her passport surname has a ONE LETTER ERROR and its an obvious mistake between an L and the I, using fictious names:

SURNAME USED ON ALL USCIS FORMS AND NVC DS-260: ALMOUSTRAD

SURNAME ON PASSPORT: AIMOUSTRAD

please advise on this matter, Im worried what they will use to write her visa???

Give USCIS a call to see how to amend this issue. You might have to wait for an updated passport. If the passport is wrong, the issuing country is going to have to fix it one way or the other. Why wouldn't they? It's their mistake, and you have documentation of what her name actually is. Otherwise, how could the passport be useful? I do not believe can use an inaccurate passport.

I totally agree. And even though it's one letter, it can be read as an entirely different name, so she will probably have to update her passport.
