I assume you were not born in Australia, where were you born?

Ap is common for beneficiaries from some countries, it can last a while or be over in a day, no telling

Good luck

Unfortunately, even though you're an Australian citizen, AP is common for people either born in, or even with parents born in India/Middle East/North African countries. There are plenty of cases here on VJ of British citizens with Pakistani or Indian heritage going through AP.

In theory, they could take two days, or they could take two years. However, I suspect the Sydney consulate will handle this a lot quicker than most of the MENA consulates.

Thank you for reply guys, yeah actually i was born in Afghanistan and than we migrated to Pakistan due to civil war and i am living in Australia from past 7 years. i have provided them with everything i could and the interviewing officer actually said everything is good except that he has to check my name and he also kept my passport so that makes me wonder whether that's a good sign bcoz they have my passport they might give me priority.
