Hi everybody,

i have a question regarding J-1 visa. I have been on J-1 visa for 3 years. Recently I left US and since my visa was expired I applied for a new J-1 visa. i was accepted in the interview but I am coming from one of the countries that needs background check so my passport will be stamped after this process is done. What has made me really worried is that the visa officer took my DS-2019 and kept it with my CV for background check. i am not sure if he made a mistake and kept my DS-2019 or they will give it back to me when the background check is done. As far as i remember 3 years back when i applied for the visa for the first time they didn't take my form for background check.

I am very worried about that, DS-2019 is a very important form. i am wondering if there is anyone here with the same situation? i really appreciate if you share your experiences with me.

Thank you and good luck

Tina

Youll get the visa.Worrying will only make matters worse.Just keep yourself ready incase the visa comes on time.If it gets delayed, then have a plan B..Either re-apply for internship or do the internship some other place. My visa got delayed and I missed my reporting date for Summer. Now,the visa is here but I-20 has expired. So,I already applied for Fall semester and Im waiting for the new I-20.The embassy is holding my passport waiting for the new I-20. Once I get it,I will simply post it to the embassy and get my visa issued.

I did my interview on 07 May 12 and got a reply pertaining to the admin processing on 02 Jul 12..So,just hang in there and pray it works out..
