This is also applicable to British birth certificates.

I brought my short-form with me from the UK, but discovered that the long-form is preferred by USCIS and other government agencies. I was able to order it online from the General Register Office of England for a nominal fee.

Yea found it yesterday but VJ wouldn't let me edit my post.

I don't have a guarantor, so I guess they'll just have to accept the short form BC because I can't get a long form.

Can you use your old doctor or dentist back home? They can be a guarantor... They never called my dentist

Fingers crossed for ya...I thought i was in the clear too when I didn't get an RFE...they MIGHT ask you to bring it to the interview like they asked me to. Or, they will give you an RFE. Better to be prepared, ya know?

Nope-I am here under L1-B status and opted out of that...I can continue to work and travel while under L1-B, even during AOS process. :)
