Can Interview Date Be Changed

I haven't yet received my interview date. However, I know the NVC received all of my requested documents on May 22nd so I am hoping to get an interview date soon. I've noticed from other Canadian's timelines who will have their interview in Montreal that the approximate wait time from when your case is complete at NVC is approximately 7 weeks - give or take.

My question is this: Has anyone ever tried to call the consulate in Montreal and request an earlier date for your interview and if so, were you given an earlier date? As you can probably tell, I am getting kinda impatient waiting as we started our process over a year ago.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I tried but the dates a available were after my date, by about 20 days.

08/13/2010 - Matt found my profile on okcupid

08/16/2010 - I introduced him to skype

12/28/2010 - We met in 3D for the first time

05/27/2011 - We got Married!

09/20/2011 - I-130 sent

09/26/2011 - text received from uscis

09/29/2011 - NOA1 hardcopy received

03/16/2012 - NOA2 from uscis website, no text or email ever recieved

04/17/2012 - received NVC case # IIN & BID in the mail

04/18/2012 - optin email sent, AOS invoiced

04/19/2012 - optin accepted, choice of agent completed online

04/23/2012 - AOS paid, waiting for receipt

04/26/2012 - AOS sent

05/02/2012 - AOS checklist received, also false checklist for ds-261

yup - Neela of Neela and Jitu user id did exactly that, in May.

Neela did, but AFTER her original interview date was assigned. There is nothing that can be done until your interview is assigned by NVC, you can then email Montreal (they don't answer the phone) and they will give you instructions on how to re-schedule your interview. Be very careful doing this, because you might end up waiting longer!

Hi,

I know the CR1 interview process is different in that you folks are given a date whereas K1 chose a date. I'll share my experience with you.

I booked June 18th and then realized I could not keep it and could not interview over the summer months so I needed to schedule one in Sept.... so when I went into the system to change my dates it would not let me. I tried again and still the same problem...so that's when I called Montreal directly and had to listen to the automated voice and press a bunch of numbers BUT I did get a live person who changed my date, cancelled my old appt, and sent me both confirmation and new appt emails within minutes. The girl I spoke with was super helpful :)

Toocool I'm pretty sure we talked to the same girl.

I took the advice Neela posted in this thread Montreal Interviews

My interview was scheduled for July 16th, I got an interview for June 26th. There are still interviews available on that date, so call NVC 603-334-0700 and see if they have booked your interview and if your case has been sent to Montreal.
