Sure, you can apply, but you can't work without the EAD. Your social security number does not give you authorization to work.

If you want to apply, make sure the employer knows of your status. Don't misrepresent yourself as someone able to work yet.

Do not START working until you have that EAD in hand.

okay but what if the employer lets me do the work coz ive explained evrything to him?(like i still dont have my EAD)

If you work and do not have your EAD, you are breaking the law. So don't do that.

All employers have their employees fill out an I-9 form. It is a form that determines/confirms your eligibility to work in the United States. Don't lie on a government form and say you can work when you can't.

Be patient. DO NOT work unless you have your EAD. If you work without proper documentation that means u are working illegally which will cause you trouble in the future.
