A (hopefully) hypothetical question:

What if the I-131 AP document doesn't arrive in time for foreign travel?

If I return to the UK without it, what is the process required to get back into the US?

I'm a K1 visa holder, getting married on Saturday, planning to send off adjustment of status forms on Monday/Tuesday when I have the marriage cert.

Thanks.

File a CR-1. If there's an emergency situation, you may be able to get an infopass appointment or even go to your local office and get a stamp in your passport to allow you to leave and return. But remember it has to be an emergency from their point of view, not your own.

If you left the US before having your AP in your hand, then you would have to start the whole process over with a spousal visa. Your AOS would be deemed abandoned, and you would also lose all of the fees.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
