I-864 W exemption from AOS

I have a question. I am a US citizen. My wife is Chinese. We are at the point in the immigration process of filing the I-864

I am filing the affidavit of support for my wife. In the instructions it says you can file for and exemption if you have earned at least 40 quarters of Social security. I have,, but now I have retired on disability.

Do you think I qualify for an exemption and can use the I864W.

I think I do! I have no proof other than my Social security benefits statement. The NVC would need to verify with the SSA that I did indeed earned more than 40 quarters

(since I worked 35 years x4= 140 quarters.

Does the fact that I retired early have any bearing on the qualification ? Is this going to slow down my application or speed it up. Thanks, Mark

The I864W is for beneficiary, so it means she or he can be credited with 40 quarters not a petitioner

You can use the I-864W if "The applicant you are sponsoring has earned or can be credited with at least 40 eligible quarters under the Social Security Act (SSA)".

Your wife is the applicant here, not you.
