If your going to get a different computer you might try this. When you get your new computer make sure you have a working and updated virus scanner on it. Then put your old hard drive in there as a second drive. Then the first thing you do when you turn the computer on after installing the old drive in your new computer is run a virus scan on it. The scanner should either clean or delete any infected files. Then you will still have all your pictures and any other info that you would want to keep.

Thanks! I'll wait and see what they tell me at the computer center. I don't really understand why I would have a virus in the first place since I have the McAfee security suite. I thought that was the point of it. Is there a better one I should get on my new computer, if I get one?

Not all virus or worm can be detected, have you tried Crtl+alt+del and check to see if you have anything running in the background, you can even go to process and delete anything you are not familiar with, you can do that in safe mode then restart your pc again. also if you are able to download online Spybot.com, and ad-aware.com, when you run it it will show you and delete a bunch of adaware and junk that got into your pc.
