Interview complete but query

hey everyone

My husband completed interview on June 6 2012. It was easy interview with only 4-5 questions. But what they did is they took all my 2011 tax papers and asked me to submit another copy of 2011 tax papers. my husband said he has it with him but they said no submit all papers to VFS with your passport. Now i am wondering how long will it take to get my passport back with visa stamp. does anyone faced this problem.

Which Consulate was he Interviewed...Mumbai or New Delhi...???? It is unlikely that if he said he had documents with him then Mumbai is good and they accept all documents there itself as compared to Delhi Consulate....Did they kept his Passport with them ???

But if they have said to submit the docs then do so as soon as possible at VFS...Then check status of ur Passport Online at their Website...

It was Mumbai Consulate. He did say he has documents with him but they said just submit to VFS. Now I am just waiting for them to send passport. I hope they don't take month or more.

What did you submit to the NVC with your I-864? Did your send a transcript of your 2011 tax returns (or a copy of your 2011 tax returns with W-2)?

My first guess from your post is that you submitted photocopy of your last 3 years tax returns instead of sending IRS Tax Return Transcript. Correct? If that's true, then did you also submit copy of all W-2, 1099 and stock/espp/bond income documents?

I submitted everything W2, tax copy 1040 and all. But they requested again form 1040 W2 and all.....and I also submitted all this copies to NVC........

there is nothing else u can do rightnow besides submitting all requested documents again. irs transcript is the best recommended way to submit your aos package.

My Finace was also requested documents. At the interview when my fiance said she has the documents, they did not accept it and asked to submit to VFS for further Review.

Since she had the documents, first thing she went to VFS mumbai after the interview and sumitted the documents within few hours.

After couple of weeks we got our passport with the VISA.

I know every case is different , could be sooner. Hope this info helps
