How long does it take to get the SSN card?

I went to the SSA office early May and put in my paperwork for getting an SSN card - it went smoothly (besides a long wait there).

A month later I still don't have my card in the mail!

On the receipt it says "Takes 2 weeks", however the agent I dealt with there said it could take over a month and to ignore that.

How long did your SSN card take? And when should I *shudder* visit the SSA office again to complain?

You need to call them. They did that to me and apparently had never put in the request for my SSN we had to call them every day for a week to make sure they were actually working on the case to get my card and finally got it in the mail.

She entered on a K-1 you do not just get them in the mail after entry for K-1 entrants. We have to apply for them.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

i know K 1 and CR1 is not the same but what i was saying even though she applied for it in the office it shouldn't take that much time until she bugs them whats going on

wow, calling them sucks. The main number took 10 minutes of routing around an automated system, then I found out I had to call the local office (and more time wading through an automated system), which routed my call to a human, who transferred me to a dead-end. Now to call again :crying:

Yeah, I had to leave a message.. felt really awkward and unwelcoming.

The automated system is so horrible. They want you to speak vs type numbers, and it misunderstands me and takes me back to the main menu. Then it hates me since I don't have an SS number to enter in! The voice speaks very very slowly and drones on and on, by the time I'm at a human, my nice Canadian side is gone!

I received my card about 8 days after I applied.

If you can get to an SSA office, I'd do that. Talk to an actual human being.

Please state what city you are in. Perhaps someone there knows of a better office to go into in person.

We live in SW Houston and it was a breeze for us. We were there less than an hour and the folks couldn't have been nicer. It was a super pleasant experience. (We went to the office located off 59-S in Sugarland.)

I'm in long beach, CA.

I've called all Friday/Monday every hour and I still get a blasted voicemail that hasn't returned my calls. I guess it's time to go there in person (ewwww)

Hurray, went to the office and got my SSN number with my card to be mailed out.

Apparently I was assigned my number, but they never mailed my card.... for unknown reasons

Now to wait 2 weeks for the card to arrive.. it better arrive *shakes fist*
