Hi guys.I need some input. I have been to Mexico 3times to see my fiancee.I have one year of phone bills and emails.I will be going to the interview with her in about three weeks but in the process of putting all this together my useless lawyer says about a week ago that we should have hundreds of pictures and pictures of us with her family. My fiancee's father died when she was 10 her mother works must of the time when I am there and she doesnt see her brothers very often. She is not a big socialite so most of our pictures are me and her in different places and I have 2 with her stepfather. surely the Consulate cannot expect everybody to have a prefect family and will not having those photos with her family impact her approval? thanks guys

You certainly don't need 'hundreds'. I'd make sure and include the ones with her stepfather. Do you have any others with others in the picture? Like I think they like to see some with you and her, and maybe some of her friends?

Most people bring I think around 20 pictures to the interview, that should be enough. But maybe Mexico is harder.

Your lawyer is an idiot if he expects you to bring 'hundreds' of photos.

But it is true that photos with family are worth more than just the two of you together.

But too late now to do anything, you must just bring whatever you can. But find pictures where you look happy, avoid pictures that imply anything sexual (no passionate kissing, etc.) and find whatever you can with family or friends also in it.

Good luck!

Most consulates do like to see pictures of the 2 of you with friends and family, but they certainly do not need (and probably do not want to look through) hundreds of photos. Just choose a few from each visit you had together. If you have some of you both visiting various places in Mexico while you were there visiting, then you might want to choose those. Include the ones with her stepfather.

Choose a few emails that span the entire time of your relationship to show it is ongoing. No need to print and take every single one of them. Same goes for your phone records. Have any actual cards or letters? Take those too. If you had any visits since you sent the petition, then include the boarding passes for those trips too. You most likely will not be allowed to go in with her, so put copies of your boarding passes from your trip to be with her for the interview too.

No need to go overboard with the photos, emails and phone records. You just need to show your relationship is real and spanned the time you said it does.

Well if the CO asks why there aren't more picture of you with family, then just tell the truth, what you have told us.

Do NOT however, go there and attempt to shoot a ton of pictures in short notice. Ideally you'll have pictures with time and state stamps and they show a variety of timeframes. Not always possible (for a person who has only visited once for example).

Just do your best. 20 photos should be more than plenty. And again, the trick with all the records, phone logs, emails, etc, is to be selective, choose a set that covers the widest timeframe as possible (from as early on as you have, to the most recent before the interview).
