We are planning on having a marriage ceremony in Serbia this coming summer, and are about to submit our AOS this weekend.

Should I be filing an AP with my AOS? I don't know if having a marriage ceremony would be reason enough for them to grant AP.

When would I file the AP for a summer AP? Should I wait a couple more months?

I really tried going through the guides on this, but I would feel better getting some input from my fellow VJ'ers. This process would be unbearable without this site. =)

If your only reason for applying for AP is for next summer, I'd wait. There's a good chance you'll have the green card before them. If you don't have it by 100 days before your travel date, apply then (it will most likely be granted - if you apply in advance, you can give any reason for going)

Depending on your financial situation, you might want to apply for AP along with your AOS, just in case there is a delay in your AOS approval.

I would think that by next summer, your AOS should be approved, but nobody ever really knows.

if you are able to pay the money I'd get AP now, just in case an emergency arises at home and you have to get back. Or consider filing AP around February just to be on the safe side. It normally takes three months to receive it which will bring you up to around May. Bear in mind that your AOS interview may not automatically grant you a Green Card, there could be delays, the FBI name check being the most common one. So if the interview goes well and you have been approved subject to a name check, you'll have to use AP to leave the US.
