Once you get to NVC and get a case number how long to you get to send in the AOS for a (IR1/CR1 spousal Visa). I asked because I am currently unemployed and pray things happen before I get to NVC but just was wondering how long will they keep my case open?

Also if I go get to that point would I just let the AOS fee bill sit or pay it get packet and hold on to it.

Just trying to wrap my head around this just in case.

3/31/2020: submitted service request for being pass normal processing time
4/7/2020: Card being produced
4/8/2020: Approved
4/10/2020: Card mailed
4/15/2020: 10 year green card received

If you are currently unemployed you can get a Joint Sponsor, That will help you with the part of the Affidavit of Support.. That's What my wife is doing for me, and my cousin is the Sponsor...

NVC Took 54 Days

7-August-2012 -- Interview date assigned

U.S. Embassy

23-JULY-2012 -- Medical checkup

7-AUGUST-2012 -- Interview; Result:APPROVED!!!!

XX-XX-2012 -- Visa received

Yay well right now a co-sponsor isn't an option. But I might have to start asking family. Yukky I sure don't want to do that. We'll say. Praying for a job soon.

My unemployment meets the guidelines. Has anyone ever used that for sponsor and was approved?

All of the correspondence I have received from the NVC has the following disclaimer at the bottom:

"Please Note: If a period of one year passes without communication to the NVC, all submitted fees and documents expire and must be resubmitted to resume the immigration process."

I take this to mean as long as you make contact, you have at least one year to get everything in.
