My K1 wife and 1 are trying to get her son a K2 visa at the last minute (before her K1 is a year old). We can't request theembassy interview yet because we are still waiting for the child's passport.

The question is, can we go ahead and do the medical and vaccination stuff before we get an appointment data? If so, What does he need to do?

Moved from K-1 to regional as medical and vaccination parts of the process are all regional based information.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

moving it here didn't seem to help get any responses to my query. Doesn't seem like that was such a good idea.

That is unfortunate that anyone has yet to answer you but when asking about medical information and vaccination information prior to interviews, that is regional issues not the same for every country.

As I write this response to you, right now at this very moment both my K-1 fiancee and her young son are being examined by Dr. Dennis in Bogota as we prepare for our interview next Thursday June 7th.

You pose an interesting question with a twist and since no one else has responded I thought that I would throw my 2 cents in so at least you know that people do read these questions.

I do not have concrete knowledge but by reasoning on the question logically I think you may be a bit premature to attempt to have the medical exam and vaccination before an appointment date has been set. Reason one is that it needs to be current within 2 weeks or you could be required to redo the vac and examination and you do not have an appointment date set yet. Reason 2 is that the doctors office will ask for your appointment letter or some indication that you have a pending appointment date set (with corresponding reference number).

Again just my 2 cents. Others set forward please..........

I thank you very kindly for the response... as you can see this question doesn't really have anything to do with medical exams or vaccinations which, of course, are different from country to country... it has to do with the protocol of US embassies which, one would think is fairly consistent from country to country.

In any case thank you very much.

,

I think we are going to run out of time. The Embassy said we had to get an interview by June 26. We are still waiting on papers from the father (in India) so that the minor child can go with his grandmother to get the passport -- the earliest I see that happening is next Friday, as FedEx delivery from India to Colombia I'm told is 4 business days. That's the 8th of June. Then he can request the passport -- could be a day. could be a week. nobody seems to know for sure. Only after he has the passport can I request the appointment. At best that's going to be Hune 11 or 12. I don't think the invitiation letter can get to him and still have time to get the medical/vaccine stuff done in time for an appointment prior to the 26th.

:(

Then it'll be an I-130 and many, many months.

To get a better chance of responses, please include the country you are asking about in the title. Because of the absolute volume of vague posts on this site, it is impossible for everyone that knows about Colombia to open every single one to see your individual question. (In other words, make it easy. :) )

Good luck.
