I checked no for citation on the N400 app, but I did have to go to court for a wreckless driving charge that was dismissed. I also had to pay $67 fine and $25 fine for not wearing my seatbelt. Should I just let the IO know during my interview or just say "no" when she ask if I've ever been arrested, cited or detained? Please help!

You still have the chance to modify anything on the application at the time of the interview, just to keep it on the safe side I will go to the court where you got the charges dismissed and the prove that you paid the fine, get all the paperwork..... From what I read every officer is different but it's better for them to make that judgment call , not the applicant. From my understanding reckless driving it's not just a traffic violation but a misdemeanor but yours was dismissed you don't have anything to worry about.... There is a member on this forum Nick D whose stepdaughter case got delay because the officer wanted to see the prove that the tickets were paid..... This is a big topic of discussion on this following link hope it helps you

The interviewer will go over every item on you application. When you get to that question say, "Since I signed this form, I had a traffic citation and fine. Do you need that information and paperwork?" Then be prepared to hand over the documentation showing charges/court record/fine payment receipt.

Thanks everyone for the input. I've contacted the court and got certified disposition showing my wreckless charge was dismissed. I also got court certified document showing the $25 fine was paid for not wearing my seatbelt. In addition to that, I've printed out the screen from the court website showing the wreckless charge dismissed, court cost of $67 paid and $25 fine paid. I will let the IO know that I was cited and charge with wreckless driving, but I never got arrested or detained.

FYI...I rode over black ice, lost control of the wheel and hit the guard rail. No other vehicle was involved. It was just a general accident, but the officer wrote me a ticket for wreckless driving

Thanks Gigi1010. It didn't matter to the officer that it was weather related. My friend was driving in front of me and she said her car slide over the ice too, but she didn't lose control. She told me she looked in the rearview mirror because she knew I was behind her. She seen the accident happen just like that. I just hope that the dismissed reckless driving charge do not delay my case even with certified court disposition.

It should not, 90% likely when you bring it up in the interview they will wave it away as they wouldn't care (as long as everything else was in order), but having it saves you in the 10% case where they WOULD care.

I wanted to fix my mistake for not checking "yes" to cited & charged for Reckless driving & fail to wear seat belt. I called USCIS customer service and they told me I can write a letter requesting the changes and to mail the court disposition along with the letter to NBS. I mailed the letter and the court dispositions yesterday by priority mail. I want my local DO to have the correct info when my case gets transferred.

I thought I will share my interview experience with you regarding this issue, the officer went through the yes a nd no question on my application . When she got to this question I told her I got traffic violation , even though on my application I marked no, she ask was it a DWI I told her no just traffic violations she said oh that's ok no problem and moved on , on the rest of the application. I did have the proof of payments for my speeding and cellphone ticket with me just in case... Good luck on your journey
