Hello all, been a while since I've been here as things are going smoothly so far with our immigration. We went and did our biometrics in Detroit and it went good. Next up is our interview which is September 18th. I'm excited, but nervous at the same time.

I did have a couple questions. On the interview notice it says we need: "All documents establishing your eligibility for LPR status"

I'm not really sure what that means. Can anyone shed some light on that one for me?

I also noticed that it said we need an original or certified copy of our marriage certificate. We provided them with this when we submitted our paperwork with our application. Do we need to get another certified copy of this or will they still have the one we submitted on file?

I guess for now that's it. Everything appears to be in order. :dance:

I recently had my interview in Detroit. Generally I think that has to do with did you enter legally in the USA and such. I-90 and such. I did not have an I-90 (don't usually give them to Canada citizens) and I was fine. I brought a certified copy of my marriage certificate however they never asked to see it. I suppose they just used the copy we sent them in the package.

I brought everything I had immigration wise in a binder. Just in case they asked for it but in reality we did not have to show too much.

Hey Darcness. That would be documents such as I-94 to show that she enters the country with inspection and would be eligible to adjust. I am not sure if your wife has an I-94 since she's Canadian? They usually just get a stamp in their passport? That's what that is. Most of the things they ask for, you already sent but u need to bring them anyways. Most likely they wont ask for it but at the same time it doesn't hurt to have. Also, our interview is on the same day...:) Do you have an early appt?

Generally just bring everything you submitted in your AOS package, as well as a copy. They should have all this already, but whatever. The interview isnt a big deal really. Just bring your supporting documentation and you'll be fine.

Today is the last chance of research for me! ..i got an insider scoop that it's not the answers in the interview that matters, is the way you interact with each other as you answer that they pay attention to. :wink:

BTW... I have not received anything since 7/13 :crying: so I made an infopass for 9/10.

You guys think is too late to ask for an Advance Parole? We have a trip to Colombia for 10/31. Hubby thought it would take to the most 90-120 days but we don't know what to think any more.... :angry:

Would it be a good Idea to take an AP application just in case they don't have an interview date for us? (we will take airplane tickets that hubby bought 2 months ago).

Maybe that will make them get to touch our application :blink:

Anyone have an Idea? or opinion? :unsure:

Oh Nooooo!!! I don't think you can go without it....Stay up all night and look for it if you have to. I know the nerves kicking in right now but just stop for a minute, take a couple deep breaths and relax...:) Its ok

12/21/2010 - became a couple

05/30/2011 - graduated and on F1-OPT =)

02/14/2012 - THE proposal

03/26/2012 - Married

04/4/2012 - Went to Civil Surgeon for med exam

04/6/2012 - TB results negative and received the sealed envelope for i-693 (medical records)

AOS Journey

Day 0 05/29/2012 TUES - Finally mailed the package to Chicago, around 1pm

Day 1 05/30/2012 WEDS - Package delivered to USCIS office, signed by John Chybs @ 4+pm

Day 4 06/04/2012 MON - Email and text notification that application has been received @ 7+pm

Day 5 06/05/2012 Tues - Checks cashed

Day 7 06/07/2012 Thurs - Hard copies of i-797 (NOA) received

Day 9 06/09/2012 - Sat - Biometrics hard copy received, appointment for July 2nd.

Day 11 06/11/2012 - Mon - Walk-in Biometrics in Boston successful (exactly 3 weeks early)

Day 43 07/26/2012 - Thu - Got text and email message about scheduled interview date for August 30th.

Day 52 08/08/2012 Weds - Received notification for EAD Production and Post Decision Activity for AP

Day 58 08/16/2012 Thu - EAD/AP card on hand

Day 68 08/30/2012 - Thurs - INTERVIEW DATE!- approved on the spot.
